10 Things I’ve Lost This Week (Thanks, ADHD!)

Living with ADHD means life is an ongoing game of hide and seek — except I’m always the seeker, and my stuff is really good at hiding.

Here’s a funny look at the top 10 things I’ve misplaced this week (and yes, I eventually found most of them).

1️⃣ My Keys

Classic. I had them in my hand, then I blinked… gone. Spoiler: They were in the fridge next to the juice.

2️⃣ My Phone

How can I lose something that’s basically glued to me? Bonus points: I used my phone’s flashlight to look for my phone.

3️⃣ A Single Shoe

Just one. The other one sat by the door like, “I don’t know where he went either.”

4️⃣ My Coffee Mug

Found it — three hours later — cold and sad on the bookshelf. Why did I put it there? No idea.

5️⃣ The TV Remote

Under the couch? Nope. In my bag? Nope. In the bathroom? Yep.

6️⃣ A Pen

I set it down to grab paper. Both disappeared. Magic!

7️⃣ My Grocery List

Made a list to stay focused. Lost the list before I left the house. ADHD: 1, Me: 0.

8️⃣ The Time

Not an object, but somehow I looked up and an hour had passed. Where did it go?!

9️⃣ My Sunglasses

On my head the whole time. Obviously.

🔟 My Train of Thought

Started with a task, ended up reorganizing my sock drawer. Happens daily.

How I’m Learning to Laugh at It

ADHD means life is full of these moments. Sure, it can be frustrating, but it’s also funny — and I’m learning to be kinder to myself.

👉 Tip: I’ve started using bright-colored holders, hooks, and baskets so my stuff is easier to spot.

👉 Tip: I also make digital lists — because paper lists like to vanish.
